Fantasic looking lurchers, what way are they bred?

I like the look of the black and white dog.

Nice looking dogs. is the first dog a saluki X?

Crow- 01-28-2008
Thanks for the comments.

Both are lurcher x lurcher bred with obvious saluki in there somewhere - more so in the first one (who is the most intelligent saluki cross I've met wink.gif )

To be honest, I don't take many pictures when I'm out lamping but here's another:

The only issue I have in taking photos when lamping is that I expect my dogs to return/retrieve to hand with the lamp off, but obviously the lamp has to stay on if I want to take a photo. In doing this I have noticed that my dog behaves differently.

Last night, for example, I took a photo (the image above) as Freyja (my dog) retrieved the first rabbit to hand, but rather than bring it right in and hold it she went to put it down in front of me. This is something I definitely do not want my dogs to do! On the second rabbit I knocked the beam off as soon as I saw she had the rabbit, and apart from a quick flick just to remind her of where I was that was it. The lamp stayed off and she returned the rabbit to me and held it until I took it.

So images of her retrieving will only be taken every now and then. I’d rather have a few less pictures for the album than create what I could perceive as a problem in her retrieving

There's all sorts in there - but of course to an exact blend making for the ideal working lurcher wink.gif
