Headed out to a farm that i knew would hold a lot of rabbits, setts arent the easiest, but guaranteed flights. into first field, and it was a very large set in a hredgrow, rbabits usually run to wind bushes at bottom of the ditch. both ferrets down, got my mate to stand at bottom, and i went uphill. few minutes went and rabbit was off, got a good 50 yards and rolf was gaining, when my mate popped out his head at the bottom the hand a look, it changed it mind and heading out around him, rolf caught it soon after, good headshot. no more rabbits from that set. tried another up up the hedgrow, but empty. so crossed a few fields to a ditch, but it it had a nice bank below it. ferret was only in a few seconds, and rabbit out, rolf was off, but the rabbit went back in, while rolf was sittign on the ground peering down the hole, naother rbabit bolted the far side, musta ran cleaning in open ground a good 100 yards to a thick bunch of whins, aww well. got rolf back, rabbit came out again and down another hole, ferret was up, so quickly grabbed her to save a dig. next set on that dicth, produced 2 brilliant flights, one of which he hit, and held for a bit, but soon kicked him off, and ran uphill, rolf pumped uphill after it hard, wass well impressed, but got away. the other ran to my right, and headed up hill agan, rolf chased well after and outa sight, went up to find an empty handed rolf sitting on post above another set. into next field, there was a bull in it, so my mate decided to stay in other feild and watch from a distance. ferret down, after a minute or two, i heard thumbling below ground, but no bolt. waited another 5 minutes and deciced to start searching, the bull was grazing a little close for comfort at this stage.located the ferret 2 feet near a hole. ran over to mate to get him to hold rolf. rarther than dig, i shock a rabbit down it, but he was grabbing it? then a felt a little bump on my knee, a rabbits was peeping outa the hole with the ferret on it, so quickly necked it and grabbed the ferret before he went back down. down another set in that field, but was empty. then down a large ditch set that showed alot of activity. mate stayed at bottom, i stayed at top. rabbits had bolted down by the far side, good long run too, and me and rolf didnt see it but mate did, so we swaop positions on the set. soon another bolted, this time it seen us and headed over the ditch ditch to my left, rolf hit it, bit of a tumble, and again got kicked off it. next we tried a set on a nice bank, rabbit bolted, rolf chased it, it crossed through the fench, rolf lifted up and over, and just missed it as it got to another set about 20 yards down. so hunted on, missed the set the rabbit went into, and tried the next. rabbit up, rolf off, rabbit down again :S. a minute later it tried again, this time rolf just watched it pop its head out and go back down. i was sure we had a dig on our hands. but after another minute it came and sat at hole, rolf didnt bate, the second it left the hole tho,, he was of, it didnt get too far and he nailed it. i was quite pleased that he sat while the rabbit sat, rather than spoke it back down, they really are smart birds. called it a day at that, as my sister needed help dumping rubbish from her new house. rolf 2 ferret 1 and some brillaint flights
