dont want to be a doom and gloom merchant , i had a beddie whippet pup some years ago around the same age .the poor mite within days had scratched itself raw and had lost a great deal of weight . after two days i washed him but this was no use in fact it seemed to worsen . i took him to the vets where they took a skin scraping to confirm his diagnosis , the pup was suffering from demadetic mange which is passed from the bitch to the unborn pups . the other dogs were fine. and the pup was given a couple of injections of ivomec over a couple of weeks . and although he is with my mate now aged seven he hasnt had a reoccurance . if your pup continues to scratch have him checked out . i hope it isnt serious and is just a treatable shampoo job
