tuesday nite was deffo the coldest nite so far this year, and sean and i were out in the fields with rolf (the Hawk).

left the house at 9.30, the nite sky was cloudly and it was lookin ideal for the nite ahead, sean picked me up and we set out to the fields. we arrived and had a quick shine on the little golf course , then headed on to the fields we had decided were gonna get it tonite.

got out of the car and got the bird sorted at about 10.30 ish, in the first field a few mins later, got 2 slips but due to the high winds coming from the coastal area we were workin, the hawk just kept gaining height and didnlt seem able to come back down. decided to head to another spot so left the field and were walkin back to the car.

sean give a quick shine into a garden and ther was a squatter sitting tight so he let slip the hawk who made a dive in for the kill but the rabbit turned at the last possable second but rolf was fast on the turn and quickly had it in his sites again he made a quick dive and hit it.

i had a great view of the kill as it was only 5 ft or so from me

called it a nite at that

bet it was a great buzz being that close!
