The older one will be bred to my whippet cross as soon as she comes in heat...the youinger one I will raise up to work with the terriers and maybe some more traditional stuff if I can train her properly. What is the first priority in their training?

personally id say obedience, without this the dog will never be reliable in work

Yep definately a bit of obedience- come when called, listen and behave!!
Depending on what you are using her for maybe retrieving.
What breed is the pup? I like the GH

I agree 100%, start with basics first, recall, sit, stay, lie etc and work up SLOWLY.
