I recently purchased one of these rechargable lamps. It's yellow (I can't remember the brand name), 6V and supposedly 500,000cp. It's crap!

So, I removed the battery and threw that in the bin, toddled off to Halfords to replace the standard 6V / 25W bulb with a 12v / 55w version (they seem to be a standard halogen type fitting as found on cheap car spotlights wink.gif ) and then wired that up to an external 12v / 24ah battery (brought second-hand for a tenner). The lamp is now very usable, and with the greater amp-hour battery lasts for a good few nights.

All in I suppose it cost about £25.00 - and that's a good price for a decent lamp and battery wink.gif

Having said that I still prefer my Optronics Spot or Lightforce lamp!

Personally mate i have had quite a few problems with lightforce. There is a fairly new lamp on the market called a night stalker, a little bigger than the lightforce striker and is only £55 a very good lamp for the money.
