today sean, rolf and i went out to a farm of mine, so decided that the morning would be spent hawking.... (See the Falconry forum)
so anyway after we finished hawking we decided to ferret a small warren that last year was 4 holes but now its only a 2 holed warren

. so after showing sean how to lay a pursenet, and his ferret entered, we stood back and waited for a few minutes then sean nodded and said he tought he saw a rabbit, so quick check on the nets showed that the net had been pulled back down the hole, altho the rabbit didnt clear the hole properly, so rabbit was retieved from the warren, and dispatched. 2 more clean bolts from this warren with 1 being successfully netted and one escaping to becaught another day.
so then we moved on to the second warren we would be netting, we ran out the long net and secured it, but the poles were abit hard to get into the ground due to it beign like iron.

so i climbed the 8foot deer fencing and netted any holes i could see on the other side, with nettles the same height as me, needless to say i did miss a few holes and the rabbits were just moving from one hole to another. altho sean did net one from this warren in the longnet. and on myside of the fence i was being stung in places that i wont name

. must have been 45 mins easy and i was still trying to find holes that rabbits were wissing past me from.. finally located my ferret 1 foot under a big bunch of nettles.

and while locating seans ferret we saw the net moving so hand down and missed the rabbit but then i saw a rabbits head poking back out and the ferret on its back so i grabbed it by the head and pulled it out with the ferret attached, dispatched the rabbit and boxed the ferret decided to call it a day.
when lifting the long net i noticed that due to a snag, the bottom line of the long net was slack, so i walked round to find that it had broken? so i got some repair work tomorrow.
heres some pics of today
