hey guys

went out last nite with sean and rolf, was gonna be a cold one and not the bests off starts from me, forgot my lamp and hat.... arrived at the first farm and the fields look promising, quick shine showed a few rabbits sitting along the bank.

only problem was trying to get close to them in the frost was proving hard. rolf grabbed a rabbit and it pulled him into the warren only his wings were anchoring him on the out side of the bank unfortunatly we lost grip on that one so headed on to another farm

where the first field had a few sitting out, slipped on a squatter in the middle of the field, which moved at the last minute, hate when they do that rolf hit it and it trailled him in rodeo style round the field (wish i had the camera on for that)

What would he catch in the wild, if rabbits can pull him about, presumably he'd normally catch something smaller?

in the wild they would hunt cottontail rabbits and big jack rabbits. in the wild harris hawks hunt in packs, wolves of the air. the males flush the rabbits and jack rabbits by foot! while the big females are waiting overhead to catch them as they flush

ohh, and they only pull him about if he hits them in the arse, he usually goes for the head, but at night as he puts his wings out he blocks the lamp, so accuaracy is bad
