there are plenty of cadaver from the road kill around here ..
most of our country lanes are a ruddy nightmare from speedy traffic.. it's all so rumoured that 10's and dozens of 'urban' foxes are being re-released into our area/s

personally id wait till i feel the dog is mature enuff, some dogs take longer to mature than others, so i guess id start looking round the 2 years to 18months area for entering on a fox

i agree with kev never enter a dog to fox before it is mentally ready prince is 17 months and i still dont think he is ready for a big fox he had a big one along side my lurcher but that does not really count i give a good story here princes brother blue got a fox at 9 months along side a lurcher then went out the next night and got one on his own thats some going for a pup and a whippet pup at that the dog will let you know when he is ready for bigger stuff than rabbit enter the dog right and you should not go wronge

when we ( me and mate) go denning, i was always dissapointed when my whippetxgrey cooper didint want to bite the fox. but he was way to younge. anny way now if tere is a fox cub or a verry big dog fox. he takes it on.
makes yu verry proud.
